Last night I made a game in 0 hours. The clocks went back for daylight saving, and that hour OUTSIDE OF TIME ITSELF is perfect for a mini-gamejam. The game I made with my theme of ‘Sleep’ is…functional? If you dare to play “Go To Sleep” you can do so here (Unity Webplayer). And also check out the other games at http://0hgame.eu/
So, another Ludum Dare, another game of questionable quality. 48-hrs to make a game based on this round’s theme, Escape. Last weekend, I had very few free hours, so made sure to keep my game super simple. It turned out OK considering, I wouldn’t want to keep working on it, but it holds up enough to not be embarrassing…
I’m as happy as I’m ever going to be about this game (ie meh) but for a stressed out Babycastles GameJam thing made in 48 hrs it’s OK. I’ve polished it up since then, but the core mechanics are the sameish.
So, took part in the 1st Babycastles GameJam this past weekend. I think that’s it for rapid game dev for a while. Kinda took it out of me. Especially when the PHYSICS BROKE AT THE LAST MINUTE SO WE HAD TO STRIP THE INITIAL MECHANIC!!!!!111!!!!! Read the rest of this entry »
So, took part in Ludum Dare, a competition where you have to make a game in 48 hrs. The theme this time was “it’s dangerous to go alone, here, take this!” My game, Party Favours, is about being stuck at a dangerously boring party, but your friends have graciously supplied hallucinogens to save you. (warning, I had to go to work when it was 80% finished, so pretty much just slapped framing on and released, so good luck!)
WEB / WIN versions only:
It seems that Robert Yang and I got bored with finishing our Game jam games, because we just finished(ish) another, Lucas Debes!
It’s a two-player, competitive game, where one player ( as the dashing Lucas Debes, 17th Century priest extraordinaire ) must escape from the Faroe Islands, while the other player ( as the evil and hideous unnamed bailiff ) tries to stop him. More than somewhat inspired by Spy Party, Debes has to hide or blend with the islanders to avoid the Bailiff, while both must lure the islanders for their own means.
